Bisto Chicken Gravy Granules
Bisto Chicken Gravy Granules are one of those things I genuinely cannot be without.
Do I make them up as instructed and serve them as gravy? Occasionally.
Mostly, though, this tub gets used everywhere. A spoonful into sauces. A little into stews. Anything that needs more savoury depth, more body, more of that indefinable “why is this actually really good?” thing.
And since apparently we’re sharing secrets now: this, plus Marmite, is the backbone of my gravy.
I am extremely particular about gravy. Gravy snob would be fair. Proudly so. Proper gravy should be rich, glossy, deeply savoury and good enough that you’re finding increasingly implausible reasons to pour more of it onto the plate. Bisto Chicken Granules are one of the shortcuts I will defend without hesitation.
Of course, you can also just add hot water and make a very decent chicken gravy in minutes. That is ostensibly what they’re for.
But keep a tub in the cupboard and you’ll start finding considerably more uses for it than that.
190g tub of instant Bisto Chicken Gravy Granules. Just add hot water, or flip things on their head and add this to whatever sauce or gravy needs a hit of savoury and a touch more thickness.
