Pikelets
Light and airy, Village Bakery Pikelets bring together the best qualities of a crumpet and a pancake. First created in Wales in the early 17th century as a regional variation of the crumpet, they later became a much-loved favourite across the North. Unlike crumpets, Pikelets are not cooked in rings on the griddle, giving them a thinner, more rustic shape.
Lovingly made by Welsh family bakers since 1934, their distinctive little holes create a wonderfully soft texture and make perfect pockets for melting butter and jam. Delicious served warm for breakfast, enjoyed on the go, or savoured with a cup of tea in the afternoon. Ready to eat, though we recommend toasting for 1–2 minutes to enjoy them at their very best.
