McVities Bourbon Cream Biscuits

Bourbon Creams occupy a very specific place in the British biscuit hierarchy.

Not the biscuit you’d fight your siblings for. Not the one you’d hide at the back of the cupboard. But also very definitely not a Garibaldi, ginger biscuit or one of those strange pink wafers your Nan bought in industrial quantities.

A Bourbon is dependable. Two crisp cocoa biscuits, chocolate cream in the middle, properly dunkable, and considerably better with a cup of tea than it has any right to be.

They’re one of those biscuits that have simply always been there: school fêtes, biscuit tins, grandparents’ houses, meeting rooms, and any kitchen cupboard containing a suspiciously large selection of tea.
