Parker's was featured In Buffalo Business First!

 

It’s always exciting to see Parker’s in the news, but this one gave us a particularly good reason to stop and look at just how far we’ve come.

 

 

Parker’s Great British Institution was recently featured in Buffalo Business First, with the article taking a look at our recent growth, some of the changes we’ve made to the business, and what comes next for Parker’s.

Over the past couple of years, a lot has changed. We’re making more of our own products here in Buffalo, sending proper British food to customers across the country, and continuing to find new ways to make the food you know and love even better.

A LOT HAS CHANGED AT PARKER’S

When we took over Parker’s in January 2024, we knew we were taking on a business with an incredibly loyal customer base and a name that meant a great deal to Brits all across America.

We also knew there was plenty of work ahead.

Since then, we’ve continued to invest in our manufacturing operation here in Buffalo, expanded and developed our product range, relaunched our website and worked on making it easier for customers across the country to get the British food they miss.

At the heart of it all, though, Parker’s is still very much what it has always been: a British-owned business making proper British food in America.

Our team in Buffalo makes our Sausages, Sausage Rolls, Pork Pies, Scotch Eggs, Cottage and Shepherd’s pies, Pasties and more, using traditional British recipes and, wherever possible, imported British seasonings and ingredients.

RETHINKING THE WAY WE MAKE OUR PIES

One of the biggest changes highlighted by Business First is our decision to begin shipping our handmade pies unbaked.

It was a significant change for us.

Rather than fully baking our pies before freezing and shipping them, we now make them here in Buffalo, fill them with the same slow-cooked fillings, freeze them unbaked and let our customers complete the final bake at home.

Why did we make the change?

Because we believe a pie coming freshly out of your own oven is simply better.

You get freshly baked pastry, a piping-hot filling and, perhaps most importantly, that unmistakable smell of a proper pie baking in the oven.

It has allowed us to take something very traditional and adapt the way we produce it for a business shipping frozen British food nationwide.

FROM BUFFALO TO BRITS ACROSS AMERICA

Parker’s may be based in New York, but our customers are spread far and wide across the country.

For many, an order from Parker’s isn't simply about what’s for dinner.

It can be a bacon sandwich that tastes like the one you grew up with. A proper sausage in your Full English. A pork pie at Christmas. Or opening the freezer and knowing there’s a Steak & Ale Pie waiting for you when you fancy a taste of home.

Those are the things that have always made Parker’s special to us.

As the business grows, we want to make those foods available to even more people, while keeping the recipes, flavours and British identity that made Parker’s what it is in the first place.

LOOKING AHEAD

Seeing Parker’s featured in Buffalo Business First was certainly a moment to be proud of.

But we’re even more proud of what sits behind that growth: our team here in Buffalo, the amount we manufacture ourselves, and the customers across America who continue to choose Parker’s, recommend us to friends and family, and keep coming back for another box.

There’s still plenty we want to do... For now, though, we’re rather pleased to see a little piece of the Parker’s story being told here in Buffalo.
