Rowntrees Jelly Tots

People sometimes describe Jelly Tots as little Jelly Babies.

Nonsense.

They are smaller, yes. They are also fruity, brightly coloured and made of jelly, so I can see how we got here. But Jelly Tots have their own thing going on entirely: firmer, sugar-coated little dots with that very specific soft-but-not-too-soft texture and a proper sharp little burst of fruit flavour.

Blackcurrant, strawberry, lemon, lime and orange, and yes, everyone has a preferred colour. You can claim you don’t, but eventually the evidence at the bottom of the bag will expose you.

They’re one of those British sweets that somehow taste exactly like childhood, except now nobody can tell you how many you’re allowed.
