Skips Prawn Cocktail Crisps
We love Skips. Like, properly love them.
Unfortunately, getting the UK bags here has recently become somewhere between difficult and ridiculous, so when we found these Tayto Skips from Ireland we were immediately interested.
Are they exactly the same? Not quite.
Are they so close, and so good, that we are entirely happy to live with this arrangement for now?
Yes. Absolutely yes.
You still get that unmistakable Skips thing: light little prawn cocktail shells with the weirdly brilliant fizz-and-melt texture that makes them unlike pretty much any other crisp. Sharp, savoury, tangy, and gone far too quickly.
The Irish version is made with maize rather than the tapioca used in the UK version, so there is a slight difference if you know Skips well enough to care. We do. We noticed. We ate the bag anyway.
