Cadbury Snack Shortcake

Cadbury Snack is one of those bars I genuinely don’t understand not being more famous.

It’s shortbread biscuit covered in Cadbury milk chocolate, which is basically exactly what I’m trying to achieve when I’m idly raiding the pantry and combining biscuits and chocolate like nobody can see me. This is simply the civilised, portable version.

When I was a student, these little beauties were a regular fallback from the vending machine or tuck shop when lunch had been forgotten, money was tight, or both. Nutritionally, perhaps not the strongest decision, but spiritually, absolutely the right one.

That’s really the genius of them. They take the already excellent idea of a chocolate biscuit and package it into something that feels much more like a proper chocolate bar.
