Chicken Madras Pie
The key features of a madras are that it hot and fiery with a piquant flavour. It has a wonderful vibrant deep reddy brown colour which is achieved from chilli powder (or paprika for a milder flavour), the tart tanginess from fresh tamarind, and it's very slight aniseed fragrance from using of fennel seeds is key.
We have managed to capture all these flavours and combine them with Chicken breast into this wonderful hand held pie to create a new taste sensation.
Our Chicken pies are completely cooked and only need to be reheated to be fully enjoyed. These pies can stay in the refrigerator for up to 5-6 days and can last up to a month if frozen.
Reheating Frozen Pies
Preheat oven to 400ºF, and bake uncovered for 30 minutes.
Reheating Refrigerated Pies
Preheat oven to 400ºF, and bake uncovered for 15 minutes or until it's warm throughout.
Microwaving Refrigerated Pies
Remove the pie from its foil tin and microwave on HIGH for 1½ minutes.
The best way to eat a Parker's pie is to reheat it in an oven. Microwaved pies have a tendency to become chewy and the pastry loses its flakiness and crispiness. All ovens are not created equal, so you may need to adjust the recommended heating times accordingly.
Serving Suggestions
Our pies are best paired with chips (fries), baked beans, mushy peas or mashed potatoes and gravy. You can also enjoy a side of fresh seasonal vegetables as a healthier option. Parker's pies also make for a perfect lunchtime snacks.
